Color Poetry
For my Typography II class, we were assigned the following: Choose one of the recordings from Ken Nordine’s Colors from YouTube or Spotify. Take time to transcribe the poem and notice the timing and tempo of the delivery: considerations of how the pages are sequenced and the use of the space on the printed page are essential. Decide on the exact text per page. From your transcript, you will design a book, utilizing typography and abstract form to embody the overall tone and text of the poem using only one color. Below are the pages I designed for each sequence of the poem, Purple, by Ken Nordine. At the bottom of the page you will find a video that includes both the audio and visuals of the final project. Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign were both used for this project.
